Gynecomastia
GENERAL FEATURES OF THE OPERATION
Gynecomastia refers to the enlargement of male breast tissue, often giving a more feminine appearance. Men who experience this condition can undergo gynecomastia surgery to restore a flatter, more masculine chest contour.
This condition can affect one or both breasts and may significantly impact a man’s self-confidence and quality of life, sometimes leading to serious psychological distress.
Causes of gynecomastia include hormonal imbalances, excessive alcohol consumption, long-term use of certain medications with breast-enlarging side effects, steroid treatments, chronic internal organ diseases and tumors (such as liver cirrhosis or liver cancer), nutritional disorders, and certain infections such as AIDS. However, in some cases, gynecomastia can develop without any identifiable cause.
