In a healthy erection, the penis typically stands upright at a 90-degree angle to the body. However, in men with penile curvature (Peyronie’s disease), the penis bends upward, downward, or sideways due to fibrous scar tissue.

This condition may be congenital (present from birth) or develop later in life as a result of injury or inflammation. Peyronie’s disease can cause pain, erectile dysfunction, and difficulty with sexual intercourse, significantly affecting quality of life.
